FAQ: DUO How do I add or change my device?
The DUO application can be transferred to a new or different device to ensure that your account remains protected.
Adding your new mobile device:
- Open an incognito window in your web browser:

- Click on the three dots
- Select New Incognito Window
- Navigate to https://login.microsoftonline.com/ and sign in with your IDEA credentials (Idea email + password)
- When the DUO window opens, click on, "Add a new device" and you should receive an authentication notification on your current mobile device where DUO is installed.
- Select the type of device you are adding (Mobile phone is recommended) and select Continue
- Enter and confirm the phone number for your new mobile device
- Select the operating system for your new phone
- Install Duo Mobile on the new phone and scan the QR code to activate
If you have access to the “My Settings & Devices” link (the self-service portal) at the Duo Prompt and are
currently able to authenticate with a device, you may:
- Add additional devices
- Designate your “default” device that receives authentication requests in addition to your
preferred authentication method - Reactivate Duo Mobile if you got a new phone but kept your number
- Change the name of your device (ex. “Personal Cell” or “Work Phone”)
- Remove a device
