Clever: Troubleshooting Login Issues
Clever is a single sign-on portal that makes access to instructional applications easier for all users at IDEA.

Who has access to Clever?
All students and Campus Instructional Staff have access to Clever and can sign in with Microsoft using their IDEA username and password.
- Student: All students as listed in PowerSchool
- Teacher: Campus Instructional Staff assigned as teachers in PowerSchool.
- Staff: Campus Staff as listed in PowerSchool.
National and Regional HQ staff who support instruction or student technology have access to Clever and can sign-in through the Staff & Leader Login and District Admin Login portals.
- Staff & Leader Login: Regional Curriculum Managers, Regional Instructional Support Staff, Regional Instructional Technology Support Staff
- District Admin Login: National Curriculum Managers, National Instructional Support Staff, National Instructional Technology Support Staff
How do I login to Clever?
Teachers & Students should login using their IDEA email and password.
NOTE: Schedules must be committed in PowerSchool and you must be the teacher of record in PowerSchool. If you cannot access Clever as a teacher, confirm that you have access to PowerSchool before submitting a help desk ticket.
- In any web browser, Go to: https://clever.com/in/ideapublicschools
- Click on Student & Teacher Login
- Enter your credentials:
- username: IDEA email
- password: IDEA password.

National Curriculum Managers and other National District HQ roles should log in using the District Admin log in.
New HQ Leaders can request a Clever account by submitting a Zendesk ticket to the Instructional Technology Team.
- This role MUST access Clever through the District Admin Login.
- Login credentials:
- Username: IDEA Email
- Unique password (may need to be reset if forgotten).
Regional Curriculum Managers, Regional HQ roles, Campus Techs and Campus Administrators (Principal, API, Counselor etc.) should log in using the Staff & Leader Login
New campus leaders can request a Clever account by submitting a Zendesk ticket to the Instructional Technology Team.
- This role MUST access Clever through the Staff & Leader Login
- Login credentials:
- username: IDEA Email
- Unique password (may need to be reset if forgotten).

Common Issues
ISSUE: I can't login
Teacher, steps to resolve:
- Login to PowerSchool to verify that you are listed as an active teacher for your campus.
- If you cannot access PowerSchool, contact your Campus SIS, that should resolve the Clever issue.
- Once, your Campus SIS sets you up in PowerSchool, your Clever account should be active the next day or in 24 hours.
- Log back in to confirm your access.
- If you cannot login after 24 hours and confirming your access to PowerSchool is correct, submit a Help Desk ticket so we can investigate the issue with your account further.
Curriculum Managers and District/HQ Staff, steps to resolve:
- Verify that you are using the correct District Admin portal to login.
- Click Forgot my password? and follow the steps to reset your password and access Clever.
- If your account cannot be found, submit a Help Desk ticket so we can set up your account. Please include rationale for the access you are requesting in your ticket.
Campus Administrator, steps to resolve:
- Verify you are using the correct portal for login.
- Click Forgot my password? and follow the steps to reset your password and access Clever.
- If you are still unable to login, submit a Help Desk ticket so we can investigate the issue with your account further.
Campus Tech, steps to resolve:
- Verify you are using the correct portal for login.
- Ask your Regional Lead to escalate your access issue to the Instructional Technology Team so we can correct your access.
ISSUE: I do not see my students in Clever OR I am missing students in Clever.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Clever is dependent on PowerSchool data, any issues or missing information must first be corrected by your campus SIS.
Steps to resolve:
- Login to PowerSchool to verify that you are listed as an active teacher for your campus.
- If you cannot access PowerSchool, contact your Campus SIS, that will resolve the Clever issue.
- In PowerSchool, verify that you can see your rosters and they are correct.
- If your rosters are incorrect, contact your Campus SIS, that will resolve the Clever issue.

- Once, your Campus SIS confirms the corrections were made in PowerSchool, your Clever account should be corrected the next day or in 24 hours.
- Log back in to confirm the changes.
- If the issue did not resolve after 24 hours and confirming the data in PowerSchool is correct, submit a Help Desk ticket so we can investigate the issue with your account further.
What is the Clever Catalog?
The Clever Catalog is a list of approved applications that have been selected by the curriculum team as having met IDEA's Curriculum Model and State Standards.

Can I request an app to be added to the catalog?
- Yes, an Instructional Technology Request Form must be completed and submitted to request an application to be added to the catalog.
- Navigate to the Training and Instructional Technology website to access the Technology Request Form.
