Teams: Enabling Gallery Mode and Together Mode in Meetings
Microsoft has recently made available the ability for users to enable Gallery Mode and Together Mode in Teams Meetings(desktop application), meaning staff can see more than 9 video participants at a time. This update also enables other quality of life Teams features such as:
- Separate window for video and chat
- Moves video/audio controls to the top of the video for easy access
Gallery Mode
Gallery Mode enables you to see up to 49 participant video feeds at once.
In a Teams meeting:
- Clicking on the ellipsis (...)
- Select "Large Gallery View".
Note - Large gallery and Together mode are only available when a certain number of participants have joined and with new meeting features enabled.
Together Mode
Together Mode uses the same technology for Teams backgrounds to "pull" each participant and place them as a virtual avatar in a seminar-style room. This is intended to facilitate more natural interactions with groups and reduce meeting fatigue.
In a Teams meeting:
- Clicking on the ellipsis (...)
- Select "Together Mode".
