Teams: Create a Class
Class teams have unique permissions and features for teachers and students. As owners of the team, teachers assign work, share class content, and control who can post in the team. Each class team is also linked to its own OneNote Class Notebook.

Note: Not seeing an option to Join or create a team? Your IT Admin may need to turn on these permissions for you.

Select Teams
from the app bar.

Select Join or create team > Create a new team.

Select Class as the team type.

Enter a name in this following format.
- IDEA + Campus + Subject + Grade Level
- Example: IDEA Weslaco Alegbra 1
- Example: IDEA Bluff Springs ELA 5
- Example: IDEA Elsa 7th Grade
- IDEA + Campus + Subject + Grade Level

Add a class description for your class team (optional)
- For example: This is the 7th grade team for all students and teachers at our campus.
- For example: This is the 7th grade team for all students and teachers at our campus.
- Then select Next.
- Tip: During this step, you can also create a new team using an existing team as a template.
- Once you've created your class team, follow the steps to add your students and/or co-teachers as team members.
